Sweet Sunday Post

Hello again honey bee's.

So I thought I would update you on a few little things and hopefully this mini post won't turn into an essay! My medical microdermabrasion is going so well, although I'm not seeing so much drastic differences like I had done when I first started. I recently had two more on the 8th of April and 22nd of April just gone. I am pleased with its progress and can honestly say the biggest improvement is how it has minimized my pores and has made my t-zone less oily. As each session goes on so does the pressure of the microdermabrasion causing it to go deeper into the skin. But I still have a few more sessions and will be doing a post on the end result but at the moment I am pleased and becoming more confident as I am finding that I am wearing less makeup whilst going out. Yay

Whilst out with my friend yesterday I went to the Bare Minerals counter in John Lewis Oxford St, and had a session with the makeup artistst to learn how to use the bare minerals foundation powder. Firstly can I say these girls were the nicest makeup counter girls I have ever met, one of the best experiences as I have been to a few and lets just say they can be rude. So I got matched and ended up buying the starter kit for £45 (bargain!) so hopefully will be doing a review on this. The day followed on by shopping in Westfields, dinner and seeing my twins play at Oval house theater. I was so proud!

Just a small little Sunday post, I hope it wasn't to much reading!

Haul Time

Hey dolls, I'm not one to do many haul posts but I thought I would add an addition to the blog of my recent purchases (which isn't a lot). As you may know I already have a set skin care routine while I am getting treatment, so i cant try any new products on my face.

{Simple Face Cream. Hair Curl Creme. Aveeno Skin Relief}

Firstly I picked up some simple hydrating face cream (holy grail product!), its something I always repurchase without a doubt. Whilst skimming the boots isles I noticed this 'curl creme' for natural and relaxed hair, it was  pretty inexpensive so I thought I'd give it a try (review to come) And lastly I have been worshiping Aveeno body cream, I use it along with E45 in alternate days and it works a treat.

{Juicy Couture- Viva La Juicy}

If you remember my perfume post I was searching for a few spring/summer perfumes to add to my collection and to start of the family, I purchased this bad boy online 100ml for £38. Cant go wrong there can you. It's such a sweet perfume and so uplifting! but trust me there will be more for this year.

{Black Aztec Tassel Crop Top|Velvet Print Skull leggings}

When browsing oxford street for some bits and bobs, my eyes instantly came across this beautiful top in H&M unfortunately at the time I couldn't purchase it as it wasn't in my size. But i did return two days later to find it was stocked in my size. Yay. But not only did I find this gorgeous top but also sitting in a corner of another store of H&M I found these beautiful leggings with a velvet print. I couldn't keep my eyes off it and a vision of the two items together got me really excited. So i purchased them both obviously. I love how they can both be dressed up or dressed down.

Anything you have found lately that you couldn't put down? Let me know x

Good Afternoon beauts, as soon as my birthday came along April has been bringing along that spring feeling and I am seeing a lot of blossoms, blue skies and warmer/ longer days. So with the sun coming out and everyone's spirits lifting I've decided to add sweet colours to this face of the day in order to match the beautiful weather.

{April Spring FOTD- Flash}

As you may know if you have been following my blog for a while, I am a big fan of Mac studio fix fluid, and that is usually what I go to as my foundation base (Although for summer I am looking for something a little lighter like a mineral powder foundation). I have quite yellow tones in my skin and have found that studio fix fluid is one of the best to match my complexion. I use Mac pro-longwear concealer in two shades that I mix to cover blemishes and to highlight under my eyes. I like pro-longwear as its very long lasting and doesn't dry on the skin, or crease under the eyes. To set my base  I always reach for my trusty Fashion fair oil compressed powder, nothing will ever beat it and it is one of my holy grail products.

I have never really been into filling out my eyebrows. I have done it a couple of times but at the moment I am trying to grow out my eyebrows so I have been trying to leave them be. On my eyelashes I am using Max Factor mascara, one of my all time faves even though I've had it for ages. I am using MUA blusher on my eyelids as eye shadow because I loved the colour it gave! Which I have mixed with Sleeks blush into the crease to get this pinky shade. It's so sweet and such a spring colour. And for my cheeks again I am using another Sleek blush, but not to much just enough to get that rosy cheek look. I also highlight my cheekbones with Revlon Colorstay.

Finally on my lips I have used a lip pencil from L'Oreal Paris to act as a base, this lip pencil could be used on its own technically but to continue with the pink theme I mixed Mac Pink Friday and Creme cup to get these results.

* Mac Studio Fix Fluid NC50
*Mac Pro-Longwear Concealer NW35 & NC42
* Fashion Fair Powder- Toffee
*Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara- Black
*MUA Blush- Shade 3 (eyelids)
*Sleek Blush- Coral (crease)
*Sleek Blush- Sahara
*Revlon Colorstay Finishing Powder- 020 Suntan Matte (highlight)
*L'Oreal Paris Contour Parfait- 668 Rose Vintage
*Mac Pink Friday
*Mac Creme-Cup

So that's my face of the spring day for ya! Let me know what you think
P.s Let me know if you know any good mineral foundations I can use for my shade please x

Harley Medical Session 2

Apologies as this was meant to be up last Friday but I spent the weekend with my mumma, so the post was put on hold. My second microdermabrasion treatment was on the 26.3.13 at Harley St in central London as the company no longer do sessions at their smaller branches like when I previously was at Finchley. Because of the inconvenience I was sent a discounted offer of 20% of future treatments and a complimentary cleanser.

Considering I was being moved, I felt somewhat anxious to go to somewhere new and meet new nurses that I would have to get used to all over again. When I got to the appointment I felt so comfortable when I stepped through the door, it was so clean so professional and the nurses were lovely with the exception of one rude snooty receptionist who didn't look like she wanted to be there. Whilst having the procedure I felt completely relaxed, even though there wasn't much conversation. But I was told with each session the microdermabrasion treatment is stronger and deeper, which isn't really noticeable.

After my session I booked all the rest of the sessions and was so pleased with the 20% off that dramatically dropped the price around £60 off. I am still seeing improvements as time goes on but in more of a slow and steady kind of way not big dramatic differences.

But as it goes I am happy with the treatment so far.

Beautiful Nails- Rimmel Black Cherries

This post was aimed to be up on saturday but alas I failed at posting it on time, but not to worry because today is my birthday. Yay. Nothing says happy birthday more than grey cloudy skies woo. But anyway this is just a quick lil post about what I recently picked up, the most beautiful nail polish ever by Rimmel in Black Cherries, it has easily become my best friend and jumped into my circle of favorites already.

I've only used it once but I bought it over two weeks ago (why did I wait so long). After wearing it for three days, it hasn't chipped ridiculously and looks like a silky colour upon my finger nails. I have now officially become addicted with 'Rimmel London Lasting Finish Nail Polish'.

I love how quick it takes to dry and that's not only with this colour but with all colours from Rimmel. Its definitely a top runner and what makes it even more special is that it only cost me £2.99 from Ebay, you cant really go wrong there so inexpensive and so good!

[Rimmel London- Black Cherries]

In the pictures above it looks like a purple but in person its quite a deep vampy purple bordering on black at certain times. I must say though I have received plenty of compliments on this colour. I know plenty of people are wearing spring pastel colours and zingy neon colours but I quite like how this looks in the warmer weather!

Any fave colours or nail polish products your wearing?

Collection 2000 Bit and Bobs (Review)

So on my way to one of my appointments I popped into boots and treated myself and the bestie to a few beauty cosmetics, YAY. I ended up purchasing the 'Collection 2000 Killer Curves Mascara' and the ' Collection 2000 Extreme 24hr Felt Tip Liner'.

At the moment I'm not trying out any new skincare products purely because I have a set regime, but I am still playing about with makeup here and there. So as I was browsing the aisles of boots I saw these little gems that I thought I would give a try. I have been looking for a liner that I would find easy to work with hence why I picked this up (also it was cheap and cheerful and I'm a sucker for anything inexpensive). Then I also saw the mascara and since I heard that the collection 2000 mascaras are good for the money, I though I'd give it a try (plus I love mascaras!).

|Killer Curves Mascara|
The Killer Curves Mascara cost a valuable £4.99 at first I thought hmmm is it really this much as I know there not the best brand, but I guess you cant really complain when your getting a mascara for half the price of what most mascaras are. I was impressed the next day when I was eager to try it out for myself. The mascara gave me so much length. The down side being it never gave me any extra curves to my lashes nor did it give much volume. But by combining it with my other mascaras it works wonders.

|Extreme 24hr Felt Tip Liner|
The 24hr Felt Tip Liner is becoming a new fave of mine firstly it only cost a measly £2.99 but also its a tidy uncomplicated friendly product to use. I found the liner so easy to use and it doesn't even smudge. Its may not be the blackest of all liners but for the price its in the running with the rest of them. I definitely would purchase this again, just hoping it doesn't dry out sooner than expected.

Overall these cheeky purchases were worth the pennies.
Let me know if you have tried them and what you thought!

P.S- Does anyone know of any good mineral foundations for oily skin to suit mac shade Nc50?

The Harley Medical Group Skin Care Range (Review)

Hey all, so as you may know I am getting treatment with the Harley Medical Group (See previous post here)  It is going really well, and as I said in my last post I would do a quick review of the skincare range I have been using from them and how I work them into my routine!

So every morning when I wake up, I use the 'Harley Medical Gentle Cleanser'. The cleanser is a mild non irritant cleanser (a watery texture slightly coloured)  that helps to balance and maintain the moisture levels in the skin. I use only a small amount (a little goes a long way) in my hands working it into my face with circular motions until it lathers up slightly, I then wash it off with warm water nothing to hot as my skin is still repairing itself. I also do this every night.

When I first started using the cleanser I was surprised at how soft it made my skin feel, now that I have got used to it I can see it has already given me good results after only two sessions of treatment and regular use of these products!

As well as using the cleanser I use the 'Harley Medical Replenishing Exfoliator'. I use this twice a week in the mornings and love how gentle it is on my skin. The exfoliator has microderm crystals in one bottle and an activator in the second bottle (both having gel consistency's), I use a small amount of the microderm crystals in my finger tips and massage it over my face (clean dry face) for a minute or two then apply a thin layer of activator over the top massaging till it creates a foaming effect. Then I rinse my face and pat dry, (I never wipe my face hard on a towel as it can damage the skin). I find the exfoliator had reduced the size of my pores (obviously with the help of treatment) and made it firmer. The Exfoliator is meant to deliver collagen into the skin making it more plump fresh and glowy removing dead skin cells with its natural bamboo extracts. I wasn't to fond of the smell at first but I have gotten used to it :)

After cleansing or exfoliating my skin I use the 'Anti-Microbial Cell Renewal Cream'with my simple hydrating cream to give my skin more moisture. I use the renewal cream morning and night using a small amount to my face. I find this can make my skin feel a little drying at times hence why i also use the hydrating cream from simple.  The renewal cream is (transparent and gel consistency) used in order to increase blood flow to help recover the skin with its repair process and helps to smooth out and soften the skins surface. Which i definitely think it does my skin is a lot more smoother, less bumpy and supple. This is my fave product of all and I love all the science behind it and how it is repairing my skin with increasing the blood flow.

Lastly I have to use a really strong sunblock this is one of the first things I bought whilst at my consultation. They gave me the 'Heliocare Advanced SPF 50 Gel' to use with my treatment. With my skin being treated I need something to protect my skin with it being so sensitive. The SPF 50 gel protects skin from UVA and UVB damage, during any type of exposure. So whenever I go outside even if it isn't sunny I have to put on my sunblock to help my skin. I apply the gel to my skin evenly and generously, I quite like the fact that the sunblock has a really unusual smell and a light tint of colour. This sunblock has worked wonders as most sun creams do. (Unfortunately I don't know where else you can buy this as I purchased mine at Harley Medical for around £20 I think).

[HelioCare SPF 50 Gel]

Overall I am loving the products that have now become part of my skincare regime. I am following it strictly to get the best results I can get. All the products are so gentle to my skin which is what I love most.

Hope you like the detailed review and how I use the products.
