Have you heard of BE BOX? No? Well keep reading!!

Be Box is a new monthly subscription box aimed at women of colour, and launched in August 2013. The team at Be Box kindly sent me a box to review. I had high expectations already before this box launched as there was nothing like this out, so was very keen to review. Once I opened the package I instantly fell in love with the design of this box, very chic and on trend. The box was neatly packed and well presented with tissue paper and samples at the ready. So what was inside? There was numerous amounts of brands that I had never heard of before, and since discovering them have fallen in love with some of the products and cant wait to pick them up at full price!

Mane Divas
Mane Divas is a company that sells high quality extension as well as natural hair products. I particularly liked the packaging by Mane Divas in the Be Box and the fact that with all the samples, they also gave people the chance to get a 10% discount off of everything until the 30th of September. Within the cute packaging I was able to sample the Tropic Isle Living Jamaican Black Caster Oil, Organic Premium Coco Butter (unrefined) and the Tropic Isle Living Red Pimento Hair Growth Oil. Mane Divas also give a contribution of their profit to Charity such as the Sickle Cell Society Charity.
Tropic Isle Living Jamaican Black Castor Oil Hair Food 20ml:
Although only reviewing a 20ml sample, this was magnificent. The hair food keeps your hair soft with a nice sheen as well as having benefits such as repairing damaged hair, breakages and helping to nourish dry scalp. This little pot of wonder worked perfectly after washing my hair and working it into the roots, it left my hair extra soft and cared for in an instant. This is definitely something I will purchase at full price!
Ingredients- Grape seed oil, Avocado Oil, Vitamin E, Rosemary, Jamaican Black Castor Oil, She Butter, Neem Oil, Palm Stearic, Candellila Was. Carnauba Wax, Castor Oil.
Organic Premium Coco Butter (Unrefined) 10g:
As many of us know Coco Butter has a long list of positive benefits, such as stimulating hair growth, softening hair texture and nourishing roots to relieve dry scalp to name a few. I particularly preferred to use this by warming it up in my hands and using it at the ends of my natural hair as it tends to dry out quickly.
Tropic Isle Living Red Pimento Hair Growth Oil 10ml:
This little bottle of oil was the perfect sample size and smelled so nice. As the heading suggests the Red Pimento is used to stimulate hair growth and can be used both for natural, relaxed or dyed hair. Just a few drops is enough to use in your hair long or short.
Ingredients- A blend of Jamaican Red Pimento Oil, Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Wheat Germ and Organic Coconut oil.

Ted Baker
Inside the box was a lovely travel size Ted Baker Butterfly Wings Body Wash. It was the cutest thing, as I am a really big fan of Ted Baker and didn’t expect to see this in the box at all. The body wash is sweet and light which foams easily leaving the skin soft and luxurious. This can be found in your local boots, so you don’t have to worry about heading far to pick this beauty up.

I was sent two 5ml sample sized HealGel face products, its qualities being an anti-ageing rescue formula that has soothing and collagen boosting ingredients, as well as replenishing dehydrated skin and restoring elasticity, leaving you with plumper tighter and more youthful skin. I haven’t seen any benefits as of yet due to only using it for a week but it definitely has left my skin softer, after using it day and night once the skin has been washed and cleansed. The formula is light and silky and easy to use.

The Be Box also had two sachets from ActiviLong, which were a conditioning hair milk and a repair and style crème. I was very eager to try this as I have only heard good things about them.

Conditioning hair milk
The conditioning hair milk lotion is formulated to improve dry dull fragile hair and make hair more manageable. The conditioning hair milk is parabens free, silicone free and mineral oil free as well as being rich in organic aloe vera and hibiscus. I particularly liked how the conditioning hair milk brought out my natural curls so easily, made it soft and less tangled compared to how it originally would have been.
Repair and style crème
The repair and style crème is enriched with olive, avocado, borrage oils and mango butter to revive dull limp hair and put the body back into damaged hair. The style crème wasn't too heavy in my hair and didn't leave any residue which was nice as some creams tend to weigh down hair as the product has a lot of ingredients but not this one.

Agese Oils
I was also sent a sample of Agese Oil Skin Silk in the Be Box. The Skin Silk is a lovely light oil used on the body after a bath or shower enriching the body with organic argan oil, avocado oil and much more, both being rich in vitamin A,B,D and E. The Skin Silk melted itself into my skin with ease and left it super soft and cared for.

The Be Box has certainly captured the eyes of many women and for good reason, and the August box was sold out instantly. I was pleasantly surprised with the samples received in the launch box and wouldn’t expect anything less in the next one. This box is definitely the one to watch. So if you want to find new products, Be Box is unquestionably the way to go.
Be Box has a monthly subscription of £10.00p/m plus £2.95 postage and packaging, but you also can opt for a pre-paid plan of three months, six months, and a year.

  1. So nice to see something like this launched! My main itch when thinking about subscribing to one of these is that the products may not always be suitable for me. The growth oil & heal gel look good! Xx
