LIFESTYLE | THE POWER OF MAKEUP

So many times have I heard on social media, girls are deceiving boys because they are wearing makeup. Or that you need to take a girl swimming on the first date in order to see what she really looks like. Since when was it acceptable to comment on what a woman should look like, regardless if she wears makeup or not. So I took the plunge and decided to show my self both as a natural beauty and still a beauty with makeup.
People should feel empowered to be who they want to be regardless of social norms or the ignorance that filters through the internet. Now I am not deceiving anyone when I decide to put on my makeup and leave the house. I and many other men and women, see makeup as a way of expression. Not only is it a form of art, and enjoyable but it enables me to enhance my natural beauty by accentuating my eyelashes, cheekbones and lips. I am aware that my skin may be uneven and I have bouts of hyper-pigmentation but no-one is allowed to condemn me from wearing makeup.
Let's stop with the comments, the hate and the ignorance, live and let live. And let others live their life how they choose whether that be with or without makeup.

xx
